A Dreamy Maternity Session at All Who Wander Flower Farm in Dundas, Ontario

There is something incredibly special about photographing motherhood in a place that already feels full of life.
For this maternity session, we headed to All Who Wander Flower Farm in Dundas, Ontario, surrounded by rows of flowers, soft greenery and the beautiful natural textures that make this location such a dream for photography. The result was a gallery that felt romantic and organic while still keeping the focus exactly where it belonged—on this beautiful season of becoming a mother.
Maternity Photography at a Dundas Flower Farm
Maternity sessions don't need to feel overly posed or formal. My approach is always to create space for movement, connection and the little in-between moments that often become some of my favourite photographs.
All Who Wander Flower Farm provides the perfect backdrop for that style. Instead of a traditional studio setting, we were able to move throughout the property, using the flower fields and changing landscape to create variety while maintaining a cohesive feel throughout the gallery.
The flowers brought colour and softness without competing with my subject, while the natural surroundings gave the photographs the warm, romantic quality I love.
Celebrating Motherhood Naturally
Pregnancy can feel like it passes incredibly slowly and unbelievably quickly at the same time. Maternity photography gives you a chance to document not only how this season looked, but how it felt.
Rather than focusing on perfectly positioned poses, I want maternity photographs to feel like the person in them. Gentle movement, hands naturally resting around a growing belly, walking through the flowers and quiet portraits all help create images that feel genuine rather than staged.
And a flower farm in full bloom couldn't be a more fitting setting for celebrating new life.
When to Book Your Maternity Photography Session
I generally recommend scheduling maternity portraits between approximately 28 and 34 weeks, when your belly is beautifully defined but you're hopefully still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy your session.
Outdoor maternity sessions are particularly beautiful during Ontario's warmer months, and flower-farm sessions naturally change throughout the season depending on what's blooming. That means no two galleries will ever look exactly the same.

What to Wear for Flower Farm Maternity Photos
For a location with this much natural colour and texture, I love clothing that complements the environment rather than competing with it.
Flowing dresses, soft neutrals, earthy shades and subtle textures photograph beautifully among the flowers. Movement in a dress can also add another dimension to your photographs, particularly when we're working with a little breeze or walking through the fields.
Above all, though, what you wear should still feel like you. The goal isn't to transform you into someone else for your maternity photographs. It's to create an elevated, beautiful version of a moment that's already yours.

Dundas & Burlington Maternity Photographer
All Who Wander Flower Farm is such a beautiful location for maternity photography and an incredible option for families looking for something a little different from a traditional portrait setting.
Based in Burlington, Ontario, Fyvie Studios photographs maternity, motherhood and family sessions throughout Burlington, Dundas, Hamilton, Waterdown and the surrounding Southern Ontario area.
My work is centred around rich colour, beautiful natural light, movement and genuine connection—creating photographs that don't simply document what your family looked like at this moment, but preserve a little of what it felt like to be there.
If you're expecting and dreaming about maternity photographs surrounded by flowers, open fields and the beauty of the Ontario landscape, I'd love to create something beautiful with you.
